 By rotating the valve stem, the thread between the valve stem and the gate produces relative movement, thus driving the gate to move up and down in the valve body. When the gate rises, the valve opens and the medium can circulate in the pipeline; when the gate falls and fits closely with the valve seat, the valve closes to prevent the medium from passing through. During the closing process, a certain sealing pressure will be formed between the gate and the valve seat to ensure the sealing performance of the valve.
